University of Victoria English preparation
Do you meet UVic’s academic requirements but still need to improve your English language skills? Studying an English preparation program before your degree could get you where you need to be.
Who should take a UVic English preparation program?
The English preparation programs at UVic are ideal for students who already meet the standard academic requirements to study at UVic, but do not yet have the English language level.
Offered by the English Language Centre at UVic, you can access a bachelor’s or master’s degree through these alternative options that satisfy English requirements:
- University Admission Preparation (UAP): program for students who need to meet the English language requirement for an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Intensive English Language Program (ELPI): multi-level program for students from “upper beginner” English level.
The best option for you will depend on your current English language skills. Upon successful completion of UAP, you will earn a Certificate of Completion. Successful completion of this program is one way to satisfy the English Language Proficiency Requirement to attend UVic.
