Do I qualify for degree admission?
You may qualify for degree admission based on the following minimum requirements.*
Admission requirements for undergraduate students:
- GPA: minimum GPA 3.0 in previous study
- English language: minimum TOEFL 79, IELTS 6.5, Duolingo 100, or equivalent
UConn uses “holistic admission” review, which means the University considers an applicant’s overall background and achievements.
*These are UConn’s minimum requirements, but the average GPA of admitted students at Storrs campus is 3.5; average GPA at regional campuses is 3.0. Certain degree programs will have additional requirements. Use our Degree Finder to see the requirements for the program(s) you’re interested in.
Simply put, “holistic admission” means a university will consider many different aspects of an applicant’s background — not just your GPA and TOEFL score.

Through Kaplan, there are two undergraduate freshman entry options at UConn. The best option for you depends on your academic background and study plans.

Undergraduate degree admission
For high school graduates who meet UConn’s entry requirements and want to earn a bachelor’s degree.
OPTION 2
Special pre-professional programs
These special programs are geared toward top-performing high school graduates who want to get on a path to medical or law school.
